2016 BMW 330e: Latest News, Pricing, Release Date

Overview

The BMW 330e is an all-new plug-in hybrid model for 2016. Along with cars like the 740e, the new car will be an important step toward a plug-in version of nearly every model in the automaker's lineup. The car will be powered by a new plug-in hybrid drive system and will replace the BMW ActiveHybrid 3.

BMW has released only very basic information so far. According to BMW, combined power output should be around 250 hp with 310 lb-ft of torque. In addition, the car's battery pack will be able to support pure-electric driving for up to 22 miles.

Key specs such as fuel economy estimates and recharge times have not yet been released. Expect further info to become available closer to launch.

Pricing & Release Date

Official pricing for the 330e has not yet been announced. Based on how hybrids tend to slot in BMW's lineup and how cars like the new BMW 340 have been priced, we think it's reasonable to estimate a base price over $50,000.

The 2016 BMW 330e is currently expected to go on sale in March 2016. Stay tuned for the latest release info.
