For the select number of ardent Audi
enthusiasts and millionaires alike, the newly redesigned 2016 Audi R8
is almost here. Though the fire-breathing R8 has been on sale for some
time now, Audi felt it was time for a redeux. The new R8 will produce
more horsepower and offer an even more robust set of features, namely a
new chassis based on the Lamborghini Huracan.
Loads of carbon fiber will be used to simultaneously lighten and stiffen the R8's chassis, while newly-developed V10 (532-hp) or optional V10 Plus (602-hp) engines will power the R8.
Pricing will likely come in slightly higher than the outgoing V10 R8, which starts at $153,900 before a $1,250 destination charge and $3,000 Gas Guzzler Tax.
The 2016 Audi R8 is expected to go on sale in Summer 2015.
